Singtel launches its software-defined solution for enterprises enabling them to manage network functions in a cost efficient way
Singtel has launched its network solution offering; Singtel Managed Software-Defined Branch (Singtel SD Branch).
The new offering will support enterprises and its evolving networking needs. The solution is highly scalable and cost efficient through the use of a ‘white box’ or other generic hardware and enables enterprises to manage multiple and virtualised network functions at their current locations or when they expand into new branch offices.
Commenting on the new offering, Goh Boon Huat, vice president of global products at Singtel Group Enterprise, said: “Many enterprises today deal with challenges of complex hybrid WAN architecture encompassing private and public Internet networks. Singtel SD Branch provides a way to spin up and take down services seamlessly, offers full service visibility and manageability up to the application layer. This simplifies their WAN infrastructure, enabling agile managed network solutions to keep pace with growing business needs in different geographical regions.”
Using Singtel SD Branch, enterprises can better monitor network usage and issues all in real-time. In addition, enterprises can add new functions such as unified threat management to the hardware without incurring installation charges reducing capital and operating expenditures.
The solution is available globally and integrated with Singtel’s submarine cables, IP VPN network of 428 PoPs and its global internet service across 200 countries. The offering is a continuation of its SD-WAN product that launched in 2015 and cloud-based NFV service last year, it forms part of Singtel’s suite of next generation SD network solutions. Also, by design the product is embedded with Singtel’s Security meaning enterprises’ network services are protected against security breaches.
