Altice names Claudia Goya as new CEO of Portugal Telecom

Claudia Goya the former COO of Microsoft Brazil has been named by Altice as CEO of Portugal Telecom

Effective immediately, Claudia Goya will lead Altice’s telecom businesses in Portugal as the new chief executive officer of Portugal Telecom.

Speaking on her new appointment Goya said: “It’s a great honour to embrace the challenge of leading a company which has such strong presence in the life of the Portuguese people as well as in the businesses in our country. I believe in the opportunities transformation opens-up for customers, employees and partners. I am deeply committed with a great sense of responsibility to elevate Portugal Telecom to a world class reference in its sector.’’ 

Former CEO Paulo Neves has been appointed to chairman of the group in Portugal and will lead the regulatory process of the company’s acquisition of Media Capital, as well as the coordination between Altice’s Portuguese assets. 

Goya was formerly COO of Microsoft Brazil since 2012 and prior to that headed the marketing and operations division of Microsoft Portugal.
