Telenor, Dubber seal cloud call recording deal
Telenor Sverige AB selects Melbourne-based Dubber for its cloud call recording platform, enhancing its unified communications (UC) offering
The carrier chose the ASX-listed call recording and voice data capture provider and will immediately deploy its platform in Sweden as part of an ongoing IT and telecommunication transformation project with one of its largest corporate clients.
The requirement for the “global leading Swedish retailer” was providing call recording widely to multiple disparate corporate office locations, which was “suited to Dubber’s high availability and secure cloud offering,” the firm said.
Christian Strömlid, head of business marketing at Telenor Sweden, claimed Dubber’s ability to “quickly test recording on our network” made the selection of the software as a service (SaaS) offering very simple.
“Adopting a more traditional hardware-based approach for call recording in this environment would simply not be viable for the client and would have taken months or years to implement. Using the Dubber platform in conjunction with IP telephony, has enabled us to deploy call recording to thousands of users, almost immediately,” commented Strömlid.
Dubber’s integration with Telenor’s hosted IP telephony offers has enabled the operator to meet its customer’s requirement without the need for capital expenditure or a legacy hardware-based approach to call recording.
The agreement initially reflects at least 5,000 ‘reserved’ users supported by the Dubber platform. However, both fixed and mobility-based services will be offered in the short-term to the Telenor Unified Communications (BroadWorks) customer base which currently exceeds 200,000.
