CTO Walter Goldenits moves from Deutsche Telekom's Hungary operation to Telekom Deutschland in Germany

Telekom Deutschland, the operating division in Germany for Deutsche Telekom, has appointed Walter Goldenits as CTO from the start of 2017.

He will take over a leading management position in the newly established technology and innovation board area which will be headed by Claudia Nemat, the group’s board member for Europe and technology.

He succeeds Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, who will become CTO in Nemat’s group-level department.

Goldenits has been chief technology and IT officer at Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary in Hungary, Magyar Telekom, since the start of 2013. He was a member of the Global Telecom's Business 40 under 40 in 2009 and 2010

Christopher Mattheisen, CEO of Magyar Telekom, said: “Together with his team he has proved a lot: our fixed line broadband services of the speed of at least 30 Mbps are available already in more than 2.6 million households and the outdoor population coverage of our 4G network exceeds 97.6%.”

Goldenits began his career in what is now the Telekom Austria group, one of Deutsche Telekom’s main competitors in eastern Europe, and became head of IT in its mobile subsidiary, Mobilkom Austria. He was CTO of A1 Telekom Austria, the unified fixed and mobile business, for three years until moving to Magyar Telekom in 2013.
