Türk Telekom Group’s board of directors has appointed Boulos Doany as CEO-general manager, effective immediately

Boulos DoanyDoany takes over as Türk Telekom Group CEO after Rami Aslan resigned from the position at the end of August. Doany has focussed on ICT venture capital and managing investments in IT and energy start-ups for the past five years, was previously the founding CEO of Oger Telecom and CEO of Türk Telekom between 2006-2011.

“During his tenure with Saudi Oger Group, he led the acquisition of a 55% stake in Türk Telekom during a privatisation tender, the public listing on BIST, as well as the acquisition of IT companies and international wholesale operations (Pantel, rebranded as Türk Telekom International),” a company statement read.

The news comes after two senior executives - Erkan Akdemir, CEO of the consumer business, and Coşkun Şahin, the CTO - left Türk Telekom last month.

Yesterday also saw Süleyman Kısaç resign as the company’s corporate governance and compliance manager. Kisac had joined Türk Telekom in September 2008. GTB
