Sfeir joins GBI as CFO

Gulf-based subsea cable and cloud operator continues recruitment drive by adding former Emirates Post Group finance man

Cloud and managed services provider GBI has appointed Roland Sfeir as chief finance officer.

Sfeir joins from the Emirates Post Group, the official postal operator in the Middle-Easter state, where he was CFO for two years. Overall, he has spent more than 18 years in roles overseeing finance at a variety of companies, including Celtel and Noracom,

Sfeir is certified from Insead and the Institute of Directors in Dubai. He also lectures Financial Governance at the Hawkamah institute in Dubai and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, and Business Informatics.

It is the latest appointment at the Gulf-based subsea cable and cloud operator in recent months. Earlier this month, it announced that Whitney Myrus and Joris te Lintelo would be joining as VP of sales in Dubai and the Netherlands respectively.

This followed the appointment of former BICS Middle East and Africa MD Mohamed Abdel Bassit, who became GBI's VP of operations in August.
