Swedish internet of things company Kombridge to join Tele2’s IoT division

Sweden’s Tele2 has bought an internet of things (IoT) specialist, Kombridge, to boost its own IoT division’s skills in security services, connected device management and application management.

Kombridge is a six-year old company based on Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden, though it has only six employees. No price has been given for the transaction.

Rami Avidan, managing director of Tele2 IoT, the group’s IoT division, said: “We are extremely excited to welcome the Kombridge team to the Tele2 IoT family. The two companies have worked close to each other for a long time. Hence, we know each other well and are very confident that our combined strengths will make us an even stronger global IoT player with high value creation for our customers and partners.”

As part of the acquisition, Tele2 IoT obtains Kombridge’s current customer base, product portfolio as well as its employees. The sales and technology teams will be combined, said Tele2.

Kombridge says it develops and markets IoT software solutions for companies that want to remotely monitor and control their connected products. It offer products and services in three business segments: industry, safety and security, and automotive. All solutions are based on proprietary products, Kombridge Things and Kombridge Connect.
