Verizon Wireless has named president of Georgia and Alabama, Jonathan LeCompte, as the new head of the seven-state Pacific market

LeCompte previously served Verizon in the US West Coast as acting president, overseeing Northern California, Nevada, Hawaii and Southern California, before taking a four-year stint as president for the US carrier’s Georgia/Alabama region in 2011.

His new role will see him take control of business functions in seven states including: California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Northern Nevada and Northern Idaho. LeCompte has spent 20 years with Verizon in numerous roles across retail, telesales and distribution.

It is the latest reshuffle at Verizon following last month’s announcement that former Telefónica UK CEO Ronan Dunne will become Verizon Wireless president from the beginning of September.

Dunne stepped down from his role as O2 CEO last month following the failed takeover bid from CK Hutchison in May. GTB
