Global MVNO Lebara has named Karen Griffiths as its new chief financial officer.

Griffiths joined Lebara in November from mobile messaging firm Acision, where she was CFO for more than four years before the business was sold to Comverse.

She has also held senior financial positions at IT and mobile distributor Ingram Micro, and Coca Cola. In her new role, she will report directly to Lebara group CEO Yoganathan Ratheeson.

Ratheesan said: “I am delighted to welcome Karen on-board. She brings with her a wealth of valuable experience that will ensure we can continue to serve the needs of the global migrant community, enabling more families, friends and colleagues to connect both at home and abroad.

“Today, Lebara is an established and trusted global telecoms business, with more than five million customers around the world. In 2017 we remain focused on serving the needs of migrants, a complex and under-served worldwide community.”

Griffiths, who began her career as a chartered accountant with KPMG, added: ““I am excited to join such a dynamic team at Lebara as it continues to innovate, bringing quality products and services to migrant communities.

“It is a fast moving market and while much of my experience will help me hit the ground running, I also look forward to what I have to learn in this market segment and its evolving opportunities.”
