The giant US telecoms exhibition, Supercomm, appears to be dead after the three organisations involved decided to cancel plans to hold the event in 2010.

The show had been having problems for a number of years — after the industry’s main trade associations tried to hold rival events and then united again. In 2009 the event was originally planned for June and then postponed at short notice till late October.

The decision to kill the event in 2010 was taken by Expocomm Events, which runs it on behalf of the Telecommunications Industry Association and the US Telecom Association.

Expocomm “has elected not to renew the contract to manage” the event, said the company.

At the same time the TIA and US Telecom said they had “Also decided against producing a Supercomm event in 2010”.  GTB
